General Construction Superintendent

Position Summary:
The General Construction (GC) Superintendent is a high-level representative of SPAN onsite and has complete responsibility for all activities that occur during the course of construction. This position has a high level of visible representation to owners, clients, internal teams, and external partners. On SPAN general contracting projects, the GC Superintendent is the main point of contact for all onsite notifications, communications, schedules, and deliverers. The GC Superintendent supervises and leads a group of employees (i.e., forepersons and crews of employees), subcontractors, and suppliers in the construction of SPAN general contracting projects from start to finish according to approved submittals and contact documents. Superintendents must be capable of advanced-level responsibilities for all aspects of the jobsite, including but not limited to a heightened sense of responsibility for processes, outcomes, safety culture, and teams, the ability to safely operate technical equipment, and advanced knowledge of project processes. This position requires strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

About the GC Project Manager Role:
As a General Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving projects from inception through completion, ensuring all are completed on-time and according to contracted specifications. You will oversee project organization, budgeting, scheduling, and all phases of execution. Periodic travel is required.
Some of the things you will do as a GC Project Manager:
- Review and thoroughly evaluate contract, project scope, and other hand-off materials to ensure comprehensive understanding of project details.
- Identify and align with operational goals of the project and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Clarify any conflicting information in architectural and vendor drawings to ensure accurate understanding.
- Partner with the Controller to ensure compliance with local/state business license requirements.
- Requisition all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for the project while adhering to guidelines.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings to ensure that all stakeholders understand project requirements and schedules.
- Prepare progress billings and review invoices to ensure adherence to project budget and timelines.
- Provide critical input for potential project options and prepare cost analyses to ensure successful project outcomes.
Some of the things we’re looking for in a GC Project Manager:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (4 year college or technical school) in Construction Project Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, budgeting, coordinating, and overseeing commercial and/or industrial full turn-key projects
- 3 years’ experience working with, writing, and issuing Owner and subcontractor contracts and change orders (from proposal to full execution)

Position Summary
The Risk Administrator (Construction Services) is responsible for supporting the risk management processes required for each project life cycle. The incumbent must manage all aspects of risk management administration and know all contract terms and risk administration requirements, and ensures all applicable items are properly agreed to and documented. This position is also responsible for assisting the Company’s risk management and insurance objectives and will direct appropriate insurance coverage for all customers and projects. The Risk Administrator will work closely with operations, project management, safety, human resources, legal, estimating, and risk management to protect the Company’s assets and minimize liability.
